Gwin Doylene Pate, 74, passed away on November 13, 2017 in Dallas, TX. She was born on July 14, 1943 to Doyle and Alice (Thompson) Hudspeth in Austin, TX.

Gwin moved to the Dallas area, with her family, when her dad retired from the Army after serving in World War II. She then met the love of her life, Gerald, at the Kaufman Pike Theatre and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Gwin was employed as a CPA for many years, and worked for both Turner & Jacobs Construction and Servco Plumbing. She was a wonderful cook and definitely had a passion for it, making amazing Mexican food and breakfasts, her two favorites. Gwin also enjoyed gardening and her yard at home was a testament to her love of flowers. She was also addicted to “Farmville” and always had a deep love Michael Jackson, Elvis and Ricky Nelson. Affectionately known as “Nena” by her grandchildren, her family was her greatest pleasure in life.

Preceding her in death are her parents Doyle and Alice Thompson , brother-in-law Larry Payne and sisters-in-law Brenda Ann Pate, Sue Huff, Marlene Mott and Paula Kay Pate.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Gerald Pate; son Danny Pate and fiancée, Mary Clare; grandchildren: Amber Pate and Seth Pate; sisters: Vicka Payne and Alecia Morgan and husband, Terry; brothers-in-law: Larry Pate and wife, Cindy, Calvin Pate and wife, Nancy and W.J. Pate; her beloved furry friend, Lucky; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, TX. Funeral service will be at 2:00 on the same day, followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville, TX, where she will be laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
