Eunice Carter Dickerson, age 94, of Booneville, MS went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 27, at Landmark Assisted Living where she had lived for over 12 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Dickerson; her parents, Ike and Winnie Carter of Ripley, MS; her brothers, Leland Carter and Euclid Carter; and her sisters, Mary Barber, Sara Dee Poythress, Pauline Richie, and Louise Vaillette. She is survived by her son, Marshall Dickerson (Carol) of Booneville, MS; her daughters Joyce Crook (Jerry) of Knoxville, TN and Janet Johnston (Bill) of Birmingham, AL; her grandchildren: Joanna Crook Carter (Bryan) of Knoxville, TN, Sarah Dickerson Howe (Nathan) of Clinton, MS, Jenny Crook of Knoxville, TN, Sam Dickerson of Washington, DC, Will Johnston (Angela) of Birmingham, AL, and Rob Johnston of Birmingham, AL, and two great grandchildren, Andy Howe and McKenzie Carter. She is also survived by her sisters, Bonna Ruth Vance of Memphis, TN and Joann Moffit of Ripley, MS and many nieces and nephews. Her family called her Mimi and her friends Mrs. Eunice. She and her husband were the owners of Dickerson Furniture Company in Booneville for 33 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Booneville where she was involved in the Women's Missionary Union, adult Bible teaching, adult choir, and Children's Bible Drill for many years.
Her family will welcome friends on Thursday, August 31st from 9:00-11:00 AM at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville. Her service will follow in the chapel at McMillan on Thursday, August 31st at 11:00 AM with Dr. Bill Johnston officiating and several other family members' reflections.
