Harmon Ray Graham, 80, of the Maxey Community, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at his home.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26th, at Maxey Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Crosswhite and Rev. Buddy Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 Monday at the funeral home.

Harmon, the son of James Gavin Graham & Ida Elsie Harp Graham, was born August 13, 1937, in Bagwell.

He graduated from Dimple High School in Red River County in 1956, and received an Associate Degree from Paris Junior College. He served in the Texas National Guard a number of years. His career with Babcock & Wilcox spanned thirty-six years before his retirement.

He was a member of Maxey Baptist Church. Harmon taught Sunday school off and on since 1964, teaching pre-teen boys, senior boys and later the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class.

Harmon enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and ranching. In his later years he enjoyed traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lethenia Austin Graham, his son, Lynn Ray Graham, and a granddaughter, Mattie Orbin.

Survivors include his wife, Laverne Mays Graham whom he married on July 4, 1993, three step-children; Douglas Shipp & wife Vera of Emory, D’Lee Daleo & husband Nick Daleo, IV of Elk Grove, CA and Tamera Gaddis & husband Dave of Emory, grandchildren; Tyler B. Graham, Layton A. Graham, Parker R. Graham, Jordan R. Orbin and Jackson M. Orbin, a brother, James H. Graham & wife Pat of Blossom, two sisters, Pat Tucker & husband Morris and Meckey Ward & husband Stanley all of Clarksville along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Randall Holland, Kenneth Armor, Don Crutchfield, Willie Cauldwell, Jeremy Crutchfield and Harold Story. Members of the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class will serve as honorary bearers.
