Mr. Harold Edwin Emmons, 84, of Frederick, died Sunday, March 11, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. He was the husband of Anna Mae Shoemaker Emmons, his wife of 53 years, whom he married August 23, 1958. Born November 24, 1927 in Scotland, AR, he was a son of the late Dr. Aaron and Vivian Hall Emmons. Mr. Emmons graduated from Scotland High School in 1945 and immediately entered the U. S. Navy. He retired at the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 1965, serving during WW II, Korea, and Viet Nam. Harold later went to work at McClellan Veterinary Clinic and retired in 1986. He was a member of the Myersville Baptist Church, American Legion, AMVETS Post 0002, VFW, Fleet Reserve Association, and the National Chief Petty Officers Association. He was also a member of the Pleasant Grove #380 Free & Accepted Masons, Scotland AR since 1949, he was a Past High Priest, Enoch Royal Arch Chapter #23, Jacques DeMolay Commandary #4, Knights Templar, Enoch Council Royal Select Masters #10, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry #32, Valley of Baltimore, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry #32, Valley of Frederick, Damascus Chapter #515 Eastern Star, Damascus, AR, and he received the York Rite Cross of Honor in 2009, Surviving is his wife at home, two sisters: Mary Bruso of Pasadena, TX and Anna Sue Mathias of Randallstown, many nieces and nephews also survive, including Nancy Gore and David Tinney, and a cousin Linda Ferree. He was preceded in death by sisters: Virginia Holiman and Esther Brown. Mr. Emmons is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 North Market Street, Frederick, where the family will receive friends from 3-5 & 7-9 P.M., Wednesday, March 14. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 15 at the Myersville Baptist Church, 10200 Baltimore National Pike, Myersville, with Rev. Wayne Spear, officiating.
