Patriotic Emblem

Harry Anthony Longon, Sr., age 64, of Albion, Michigan went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 12, 2022. Harry was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on July 28th, 1957, the son of Harry L. and Melba E. (Bourque) Longon.

Harry married the "Love of His Life", Kay Joleen Nazworth in Orange, Texas on April 12, 1985; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Lyndsay Kay (Dave) Brittin, Cody Wayne (Ann) Longon, Landon Seth Longon, Harry Anthony Longon Jr. and Randy Paul (Brandie) Longon. 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and two 2 brothers, Robert (Monica) Longon and Carroll Longon. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cindy.

Harry was an Army veteran and retired from the City of Albion as the Deputy Director of Public Works and served as a Lab Courier for BBC Lab. Harry was a jack of all trades. If you needed something done, he could most likely do it. He loved technology and cooking Cajun food; in fact, he made the best gumbo in the world. He loved spending time with his best friend and favorite person in the world who he adored, his beautiful bride Kay. They enjoyed playing cards with friends, but their favorite time was spending time in God's word and praying every evening together. He adored his children and grandchildren and would do anything for them. Harry was of Cajun French decent and was very proud of his heritage. Harry recently started serving his church as an Elder and Sunday school teacher. He loved Jesus the most and it was such a joy for him to serve the Lord by serving others. He loved Jesus and wanted everyone to come to a saving knowledge and to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Faith Baptist Church 13840 Helmer Road South, Battle Creek, MI 49015, where services to celebrate Harry's life will begin at 12:00 noon, Monday. Interment with full military honors will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the Faith Baptist Church, would be appreciated. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
