Harry C. Lantau Jr., 96, of Davenport passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at The Kahl Home. Private family services will be held at The Runge Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

He was born May 15, 1921 in Davenport Iowa, the son of Harry and Sadie (Koeppe) Lantau Sr. He was united in marriage to Colleen Conner May 31, 1946 in Davenport. He was employed as an iron worker for several companies in The Quad Cities. In his younger years he enjoyed golf. He also enjoyed researching genealogy.

Harry also served in the European Theatre during WWII. He was part of a supply group in General Patton's Third Army. One of his missions was to divert fuel to the Battle of Aachen. It was a task for the bravest of men. His company would also help deliver supplies to the Dacau concentration camp to help with the relief effort.

Those left to honor his memory include son, Harry (Dianne), Freeport, Illinois; daughter, Rebecca (Jeff) Wierenga, Port Byron Illinois; grandchildren: Jodi (Rob) Brown, Jennifer Albert, Kerry Lantau, Kelly (Brandon) Josephsen, Steven Moeller and David (Delilah) Moeller; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Robert (JoAnn) Lantau; sister Leeora Loncarich.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife; daughter Jamie Albert; sister, Arlene Blessing; brother, Eldred Lantau.
