Harry Francis Moyer June 14, 1915 - March 10, 2012 Harry was born in Three Rivers, Michigan. His family moved to Portland in early 1919. Harry became famous in the Portland boxing community after his start at Milwaukie High School. He then went on to become the 1934 runner-up in the Pacific Coast Amateur Lightweight Championship. He also spent time coaching his brothers and two sons. In the early 40's Harry entered the Merchant Marines to fight for his country. Harry was co-owner in Moyer Theatres, a family owned business started by his Father and Mother in 1933. Harry was well known for his bountiful garden which grew every year and supplied many of his neighbors, family members as well as his fellow church goers at Christ the King Church. He also donated vegetables to charitable organizations to feed the homeless. Harry is survived by his brothers Tom and Larry, his sister Emma, his sons Phil and Mike, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Christ the King Church in Milwaukie on March 15, 2012 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Vincent de Paul, Christ the King conference.
