Hazel G. Menasco, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Mother passed away on June 14th, 2017 at the age of 92.
Hazel was born January 4, 1925, in Bristow, Oklahoma. She was a devoted Navy Pilot's wife supporting her husband's career at numerous ports of call including Panama Canal Zone, Midway Island, and Newfoundland. Hazel was an instructor in a beauty school in the 1960's when the Glemby Company out of New York hired her. She was sent to London and Paris for training. Hazel managed a salon for them in Va. Beach, Va. After moving to Houston in 1974 she became secretary for Gary Beauchamp at Westbury Church of Christ and was a founding member of the First Colony Church of Christ where she was secretary to Ronnie Norman.
Hazel was a great Bridge partner and a great "42" dominoes partner. She traveled to Europe 3 times in her 80's and enjoyed cruises in the Caribbean. Football was her game; she loved the Texans.
Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Menasco; a son, Michael W. Menasco; and a sister, Marie Nichols. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jean (Benny) Blackwell, her grandsons, Andy (Cindy) Blackwell and Jonathan Blackwell; and 5 great grandchildren, Mallory, Dylan, Chase, Tyler, and Kaitlyn; and a daughter-in-law Sue Slaughter.
Visitation will be Friday June 23 from 5-8 pm. at Settegast-Kopf Co. Funeral Directors @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Tx. Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, June 24, at 10 am. at First Colony Church of Christ, 2140 First Colony Blvd. Sugar Land, Tx. with visitation from 9-10 am. Interment will be at Forest Park Cemetery on Wertheimer.

Hazel was an effective encourager that sacrificially and lovingly enjoyed people. She will be greatly missed.
