On Monday, August 7, 2017 God opened His arms and welcomed Heather Kay Sims into heaven. Heather was born March 13, 1977 to Mark Sims and Gina Claybaugh Sims. She was a graduate of Heritage Hall and Oklahoma City University where she earned a degree in Criminal Justice.
Heather loved music. It became a family joke as she often frustrated her music teacher at recital time because she couldn't read music but learned her pieces by ear listening to a recording. She also enjoyed writing poetry and essays. But it was her love for dogs that was unsurpassed. She treated her dogs as family members, rescuing everyone she could and always had at least one.
Heather was always the first to tell her family "I love you" and constantly left notes to "Nana" thanking her for anything and everything.
Heather lives on through each of us and will be forever missed and loved. She leaves cherished memories with her father, Mark and stepmother Gerry; grandmother "Nana" Ann Sims, half-brother Levi Allen, stepsister Chelsea Logan and nephew Jakob. Also her special forever friend Kristy Ransom and her family. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. And last but not least, her "little white dog", Tobyn.
Heather was preceded in death by her mother Gina, "Papa" James W. Sims, and great grandparents Gaerold and Alma Antene.
