Heinrich (Heino) R. Erichsen, 93, of Shenandoah, TX passed away on 1/13/18. He was born in Kiel, Germany on 6/7/24. Heino earned his BS in business administration at Metropolitan State University in Minnesota, and earned his MA in human development at St. Mary's University in Minnesota. He was married to Jean Erichsen on 12/29/1962.

Heino was a pioneer in international adoption as the executive director of Los Ninos International Adoption Center, which he co-founded in 1981. For over 25 years, it was his life's mission and during that time, he helped almost 3,000 babies and children find permanent, loving, adoptive homes in the United States. He had a passion for world events, politics, traveling and reading.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister. He is survived by his wife, Jean Erichsen; his children: Jorg Erichsen, Art Erichsen, Rosana Erichsen, Tatiana E. Qureshi, Omar Erichsen and Kirk Erichsen; his grandchildren: Heidi Erichsen, Kathe Erichsen, David Erichsen, Laura Kock, Ian Erichsen Heck, Nola Erichsen Heck, Iman Qureshi, Eisa Qureshi, Amorie Erichsen, Major Erichsen, Ariana Erichsen and Zachary Erichsen and his great granddaughter, Madeline Jean Erichsen.

His funeral will be on 1/18 at Forest Park but the family would like to keep it private, with only the immediate family attending.
