Henley Edward McQuarry passed over in spirit on December 15, 2015. This marks a new beginning to soar to even greater heights beyond the physical.

Born in Allwood, October 19, 1936, he was the son of the late Howard Flood McQuarry and Lucille Burke McQuarry Lavender. He led an adventurous life, growing up in Allwood, Virginia, later joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. His life is marked by the love and kindness he shared with many.

He was beloved by his family and friends, and survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Fails and Timothy Fails; grandchildren, Jason Fails and Laura Fails; his partner Judith Leebrick; siblings Betty Coates, Nina Carter, Tom Lavender and Jimmy Lavender.

A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Paul Boothby and the Rev. Gary Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Allwood Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 16.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
