Henrita Jeanette Pauwels was born in Essexville, MI on September 22, 1926 to the late George and Laura (Baribeaux) Christie Sr. She passed away at McLaren Bay Region on January 10, 2020. Her husband, Julius Pauwels, preceded her in death in 1990.
Henrita was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), the League of Catholic Women and Men and the St. Anne Society.
She is survived by her daughters: Cynthia (Donald) Killey and Susan (Dallas) Swindoll, her grandchildren: Julie (Traci) Bliss, Sheryl Rascoe, Christie Killey, Daniel (Carla) Bowyer and Karla (Barry) Walta, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 2 children: Laurene Bowyer and Joseph Pauwels, 2 grandchildren: Annettte Bowyer and Jacob Killey, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish. Father Dale Orlik will preside. Private burial will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home where the Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 6 p.m. She will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the Mass begins. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish.
