Henry Odell Pearson was born February 19, 1931 in the Cleo Community of Jones County, MS, the son of Johnny Robert Pearson and Mary Lucille Myrick.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John (Windell) and Robert (Nate) and Sister Mary.
Odell was married to his wife Donna for over 63 years, besides his wife he is survived by daughters Christine Cochrane (Bruce) and Janelle Mc Poland (Jamie). Five grandchildren: Donna Barkdoll (Christian), Marcie Duvall (Greg), Steven Hazelett (Nary), Joseph Hazelett (Carm) and Stefani Hazelett. Nine Great Grandchildren: Derek and Dylan Barkdoll, Caylee Hotchkiss, Dalton and Dustin Garrett, Devon, Levi, Jared and CJ Hazelett. Four Great Great Grandchildren: Elaynea and Connor Barkdoll , Brooklynn and Gage Hazelett. Three sisters, Jan Coxey (Jim), Donnie Keel (Tom), Sidonnie Schultz (Gary), one brother, Marvin Pearson. Twenty-four Nieces and Nephews and 36 Great Nieces and Nephews.
Odell served his country in the Navy as well as the Army with two honorable discharges. After his discharge from the Navy in 1950 he hitchhiked to Oregon and in the following months was able to move his parents and seven siblings to Oregon. He met his wife Donna in Vernonia and they were married January 22, 1954.
His work was in construction and after working for other contractors through the years he started his own business in 1968 retiring his business in 2000 then continuing to work for other contractors.
He was a family man and set a great example for the family. He enjoyed the many family gatherings that were held in his home during his lifetime. His special interests were gardening and working in his yard and rock collecting. He enthralled many by telling stories of his earlier years.
