On the evening of Jan. 6, 2018, Hermilo (Milo) Sanchez died quietly in his sleep, joining his beloved wife Susan who had passed before him in 1991.

Milo had served in WWII with the 15th Army Air Force, assigned to the 451st Bomb Group, flying from Italian bases to bombing missions over Nazi occupied Europe. Shortly after returning from the war, he made his home in Burbank, and began working for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in 1947. He married Susan Luevano and together they raised a family of five children. After 35 years of working for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, with much of that time quietly working for Kelly Johnson's Skunk Works organization, he retired. (To his credit, all the secrets he learned while working for Skunk Works, he took to his grave.)

In his retirement, he became known amongst his growing family simply as, "Papa." Hermilo is survived by his 3 sisters; Cindy Karg, Sofie Lucero, Josie (Salvador) Moreno, five children, Chris Busik, Rebecca (Bruce) Forbes, Lori (Steve) Sheehey, Diane (John) Holbert, Milo Sanchez Jr., 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends throughout the USA and Mexico.
