Hildegard (Burghardt) Kralits, 92, of West Hartford, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at a local convalescent home. Born in Hirschberg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Ewald and Ida Burghardt. She moved to the U.S. in 1954 and married Leslie Kralits of West Hartford, who she met while he was working in Germany. Early in her career, Hildegard worked at the Newington Hospital for Crippled Children for 6 years and later owned and operated a daycare on Raymond Road in West Hartford until her retirement in 1990. She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Hildegard loved children and was always generous with her time and eager to lend a hand. Her husband Leslie predeceased her in 1996. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Eva and David SeCaur of West Hartford; her grandchildren and their families, Leslie Rovero, her husband Martino, and their children, Saige and Chase of West Hartford, Erik Peterson, his wife Meghan, and their son Kyle of North Hills, CA; and her sister, Margarete Stanski of Willington.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the family's request. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hildegard's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Hwy, Suite 100 Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
