Hugh Halsey III, 61, died at home on his birthday, January 17, 2017, following a lengthy illness. He shared his life with his wife of 37 years, Kathleen M. Halsey and their son, Hugh Halsey IV.

Born on January 17, 1956 in Union, NJ, to Adele and Hugh Halsey Jr. he was raised in Basking Ridge, NJ. A 1974 graduate of Ridge High School he was also active in scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Hugh worked for Weston Instruments as a Planner-Expeditor, Siemens as an Inventory Control Manager, and most recently for Bosch Rexroth as a Planner-Scheduler. He was active at the East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church serving as an elder, youth group leader taking numerous youth on mission trips, and chaired the Pastor Nominating Committee which called the most recent pastor. He was also a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed mentoring young people and made a difference in many of their lives. He had an incredible sense of humor, telling jokes and providing laughter for others throughout his life.
In addition to his wife and son he is survived by his sister, The Rev. Dr. Alison Halsey (The Rev. Dr. William Hathaway) of Annapolis, MD, his sister-in-law, Wanda Kaminski and brother-in-law, Stanley Kaminski, of Gainsville, GA and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church, 55 Smith St., East Stroudsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church.
