Ignacia Jacinto Torrez passed away peacefully at her home in Plano, TX on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Her loving and beautiful family surrounded her as she departed this life at the age of 88. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 70 years, Casildo, daughter Anna and husband Gary, daughter Deborah and husband Fidel, grandson Michael and wife Kate, grandson Christopher and wife Rebecca, grandson Mark and wife Schuyler, granddaughter Kimberly and husband Herman. She also has nine great-grandchildren: Peyton, Ryan, Olivia, Easton, Lucas, Emma, Merrick, Avery and Malakai. She is also survived by five of her siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless extended family and friends who love her.

Ignacia joins her beloved son, Mario, and his partner, Greg, in death, as well as her parents, several siblings, and numerous extended family members.

She was born on February 1, 1929 in Italy, TX and was one of 16 children. She met the love of her life, Casildo and they were married on December 8, 1947. Soon after, the newlyweds were blessed with their handsome firstborn, Mario. Within the next three years, they also welcomed their two beautiful daughters, Anna and Deborah. In 1964, Casildo and Ignacia moved to Plano, TX to provide their children with a better life. This was a financial struggle at times, but the family made up for anything they lacked by always showing each other unconditional love and support.

She was known to all by many names such as Ignacia, Nancy, Nacha, Mother and Mama, but no matter what she was called, she was truly a mother to all. Ignacia enjoyed many things but her favorite of all was spending time with her family. Nothing brought her more joy than watching them grow and build families of their own. Her other hobbies included traveling, crafts, reading, playing games, playing the slots, and most of all, laughing.

She left many lasting impressions that included: family is forever, be forgiving, always keep a close relationship with God, and by working hard and being focused on your dreams.you can have everything you need in life.

She accepted everyone as her own and made friends everywhere she went. She was the most devoted, gentle, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and family member.

As the matriarch of our family, we were all eager to soak up her wisdom. Her parting wish was "no matter what happens, never let anything come between you and your family, because family is forever."

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 1:00pm in Ted Dickey West Funeral Home.
