Ira Troy Patton, 84, passed away with family by his bedside in Jupiter, Florida on December 19, 2020. He was thoughtfully cared for by hospice due to a chronic medical condition. Originally from Sebastian, Florida, he was a kind and compassionate man who regaled friends with his childhood stories of the Patton family.
Known as Troy by his friends and family, he was an amazing father to his son, "T.C." Patton, his wife Erica; and his daughter, Stacey Patton Moore and her husband Stephen Moore. Aside from being survived by his children, he also leaves behind sister Anne Agent and brother Bert Patton as well as four grandchildren, Connor, Alex, Sophie, and Trevor and granddog, McCloud.
One of his favorite sayings was he was doing "amazingly well," and this is exactly how he chose to live his life. Troy proudly served in the United States Army and worked in a variety of executive positions as a civilian. He enjoyed a love of gardening, travel, walking, poker games and almost any Western movie or book. He volunteered often for a variety of services aiding the elderly, including Meals on Wheels America, assisting with greeting patients at Holmes Regional Medical Center in downtown Melbourne, and was a volunteer instructor for 55 Alive, a mature driver refresher course.
No funeral is planned. The family plans to host a small private service in Sebastian, Florida next summer when it's hoped to be safe to gather. He was, is, and will always be larger than life, and he will be greatly missed.
