James Richard Hisaw, August 28, 1948-December 5, 2017

James Richard "Rick" Hisaw, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2017. He was born August 28, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late James and Ruth (nee Davison) Hisaw. Rick was the beloved husband of Marion Sokolnicki; adoring father of Jason (Ariana) Hisaw, and Amanda Hisaw Lehr; cherished "Pop Pop" of Jacob, James and Joshua; dear brother of Judy (Jim) Hisaw Poskozim; fond uncle of Clinton (Karen) and Richard (Matthew) Poskozim; great-uncle to Carter and Grant Poskozim; many other nieces and nephews and life-long friend of Richard Brenner and Kevin Bolger. All of these people he loved and touched deeply with his selfless and generous spirit.

Rick grew up in an Air Force family and lived in Japan, England, South Carolina, Indiana and Rantoul, Illinois. He loved to tell stories of waking up at 3:30 a.m. to go roll the donuts at Spudnuts Donut Shop in Rantoul. This is where, early on in life, modeled after his own parents, he developed a deep and lifelong work ethic, which he later instilled into his own children. He attended Southern Illinois University and later graduated from Chicago Kent Law School in 1973. He went on to practice law in the Chicago area for 40+ years.

An avid Cubs fan, story-teller, history buff, cheesecake maker extraordinaire and lover of the finer things in life, Rick's true and abiding love and passion were his children, grand-children, family and friends.
