Col. Randolph was born January 16, 1921 to Jacob A. and Adeline Randolph in Troutville, VA and passed away January 12, 2018. He graduated from Buchanon High School in 1938 and attended VPI. He worked for the Philadelphia Ordinance Distribution in Baltimore for 3 years and joined the Army September 1943. During that time he served tours in Hawaii, Japan, Germany, Korea and with the Army General Staff. He received the Legion of Merit for his service. After retiring from the Army in 1960, he moved to Culpeper, VA. He was employed by The Second National Bank, retiring as a Vice-President after 10 years. During his time in Culpeper, he was a member of the Masons, Chairman of the Culpeper Chapter of the American Red Cross, served three years on the Board of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary, served as President of the Mid-Day Lions Club and was a member of the Culpeper United Methodist Church.
He leaves his children John Robert Randolph and his wife Becky, Virginia Lee Randolph and her husband Rex Wayne Stout; his grandchildren, Jennifer Randolph Davis (Steve Davis), John Robert Randolph, III, Jeremy Wayne Stout (Kerri Quimby) and his great-grandchildren Danielle Randolph, Alex Davis, Logan Davis, Jacob Stout and James Stout. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lee.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Culpeper National Cemetery (New Section) with military honors.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.
