Jaime Luna was a son, father, brother, and a man of unwavering faith. He went to join his Savior in the Kingdom of Heaven on April 23, 2017 after a battle with liver disease. He clung tightly to these words of St. Teresa of Avila "let nothing disturb you; let nothing frighten you, all things are passing, God is unchanging. Patience endurance attains all things, those who possess God lack in nothing: God all sufficies."
Jaime was born on December 15, 1968 to Hector and Matilde Luna in McCamey, TX. He is survived by his parents and two brothers: Hector Luna and Jesse Luna. Jaime leaves behind his two daughters, Emma Luna and Elena Luna, as well as his four-legged granddaughter, Bella Luna. Jaime grew up in Odessa, TX and enjoyed spending time on his father's ranch. Jaime loved animals, especially horses.
Jaime graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's of Science in 1993, he then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Business Administration from St. Edwards University. Besides being a die-hard longhorn fan, he enjoyed traveling, two-stepping, and bow hunting. He was adventurous with his food taste and had a palate for Central American Cuisine with a weakness for cheese Danishes. Secretly, Jaime was a foodie who was often caught picking off his daughter's plates. Lastly, Jaime will be missed the most for his corny jokes. His favorite line was "So a horse walks into a bar and the bartender says "hey, why the long face?" Followed by him laughing at his own jokes. To complement his Western flare Jaime accessorized every outfit with a pair of cowboy boots. He often talked about buying a ranch and riding horses. This cowboy has saddled up his horse and is headed home. As he rides into Salvation, we tip our hats from afar, and wish him a safe journey home. Tell next time, our sweet love.
