James Hunt, 87, of Frisco died on August 13, 2017 at his residence by his family. He will always be remembered as a loving, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all that knew and loved him. He was born in Princeton, Indiana on June 15, 1930 to Jesse Charles and Mary Magdalene Crandall Hunt.

James graduated from Princeton High school in 1948, he then enlisted in the army and fought in the Korean War. Upon return he married Joy McLean in 1953, they were married 56 years before Joy's passing. He was a Safety Engineer for Ashland Chemical Company for 36 years. He was a member of the Rock Hill Church of Christ. He was and an avid golfer and a talented piano player. He loved spending time with his family.

James was preceded in death by his wife Joy Hunt, father, Jesse Hunt, mother, Mary Hunt, and sister, Mary Lou Carpenter.

Survivors include his brother, Jerry Hunt and wife Ruth Ann; sons, James Hunt Jr. and wife Shelia of Plano, TX; Jeff Hunt and his wife Mayra of Carrollton, TX; daughter Joni Powell and husband Dick of Kirbyville TX; 6 Grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be at 12:00 am on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Ted Dickey West Chapel, 8011 Frankford Dallas, Texas 75252. The family will receive friends from 10AM to 12PM before the service. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
