James C. Wilson was born on November 1, 1951 to the late Fred and Lila Wilson in Brent, Alabama. He was the seventh of eight children born to this union.
The family relocated to Chicago in 1953.

At an early age James received Christ as his personal savior.
He attended grammar school at Bond elementary and graduated from Simeon High School in 1968.

In 1969 he met the love of his life, Isabell Speed and they were married on September 5, 1970 in the comforts of his sister Bernice's home.
One of the young couple's many proudest moments was purchasing their first home at the age of 20! After creating a warm and loving environment they had two beautiful children Jatwain and Marissa.

James had an impeccable work ethic. He has worked as a shipping clerk to developing his own business which included selling sports apparel through various flea markets while simultaneously working for Smithereen Exterminating Company, an independent company. That led him to purchasing his own pest control business "Peoples Pest Control" which he operated for the last 13 years.

James was a devoted deacon at the church formerly known as Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church. He later became a Spiritual Servant at Full Gospel Christian Assembly International under the leadership of his brother Apostle Ron Wilson.

To best describe James; he was prideful, a natural born leader and mentor. He always felt compelled to protect and mentor young men that he crossed paths with. He felt that he was compelled to protect them just as much as his own family.

On December 24, 2016 James was called home to be with the Lord.

James was preceded in death by his son Jatwain Wilson, Brother Lee Thomas, Sisters Freddie Lee and Robena Boykins, Sister in law Essie Kye and Brothers in law Tyrone Green Sr. and Isaiah Samuels.

His love will live on in the hearts of his devoted wife of 46 years Isabell, daughter Marissa, brothers Murray (Victoria), Ron (Barbara) Wilson; sisters Bernice Green and Ella Samuels, mentor Fred Daniels; brothers in law Terrell and Turner Speed and Ernest Boykins; numerous nieces, nephews, God children, cousins, treasured friends and clients.
