James D. Wigglesworth, Jr., 88, longtime Northfield resident, passed away March 18, 2012. Beloved husband of Jean; father of Jamie and Janet; grandfather of Thea and Avery; and brother of Nancy Anderson and Don Proven. Born in Oak Park and a 1941 graduate of New Trier, Jim was the founder of J.D. Wigglesworth Machinery Co. and later purchased his grandfathers company, Hill-Clark Machinery in Chicago. He was a member of the Union League Club and president of the Machinery Dealers National Association. Jim was an avid golfer at Skokie Country Club, however he may be remembered most by the Chicago badminton community where he conducted numerous exhibitions, served as president of the Skokie Badminton Club and the Midwest Badminton Association, and won numerous titles including being crowned the National Champion in Masters Men's Doubles. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 3 PM at Northfield Community Church, 400 Wagner Road, Northfield.
