James Douglas Parks, Sr., died Monday, March 4, 2013 in Searcy. He was born February 12, 1938 in Searcy to William Carlos and Willie Mae Greer Parks. James is survived by his mother, Willie Mae Parks of Searcy; two daughters, Melissa Manley of Searcy, Jennifer Hess of Little Rock; one son, James D. Parks, Jr. of Bee Branch; four brothers, Bill Parks of Searcy, Randall Parks of Searcy, Danny Parks of Searcy, Robert Parks of Odessa, Texas; two sisters, Judith Parks of Searcy, Anna Bayly of New York; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, William Carlos Parks; one sister, Linda Sue Hancock; and one brother, Gaylon Parks.
The family will have a private memorial service on Thursday.
