James Edward Breuer, formerly of San Antonio, TX was born March 28, 1935 to Herman Martin Breuer and Edna Reimer Breuer in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The family moved to Texas in 1945. Jim died on June 13, 2017 at age 82 at Legacy Memory Care facility in Denison, TX.

After attaining the rank of captain in the United State Army, Jim left the service to teach biology and marine science for many years at Judson Senior High School in San Antonio. He was a former Eagle Scout, loved the outdoors, and after his retirement, built 25 houses for Habitat for Humanity.

Burial will be 11:00 AM, Friday, June 30, 2017 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.

Survivors are sisters Dorothy Fuller of Canyon Lake, TX and Jean Chambers and husband Sutton Chambers of Sherman, TX. Best friends include Mark Magavern, Steve Robichaud, and Irene Thomas of San Antonio, TX and Linda Hopson of Sherman, TX. Nephew Eric Chambers of Austin, TX and niece Susan Chambers Hamilton of Denison, TX frequently visited their Uncle Jimmy at Legacy.

Jim's family gives loving thanks to Legacy owners Steven and Kimberly Streun. Thanks and gratitude also go to caregivers Cindy, Bailey, Paige, Elina, Haliey, Lea, Jenny, Alisha, Ruth, Miss Peggy, Liz, Natika, Candace, Juanita, Ashley, Harley, and Nickey G. who provided such wonderful care for Jim while he lived at Legacy.

Incredible care was provided by Pathways Palliative Care Staff Kathy and Amanda and also Home Hospice of Grayson County's Ginna, Sharon, Carol, and April.

Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity or the Texas Presbyterian Children's Home.
