It is with great sadness that the family of James Kenton Musick, also known to many as Kenny Musick, announces his passing on November 25, 2017 at his residence in Del City Oklahoma. He was born June 18, 1949, in Denver Colorado. He was raised by Mary Jo and T. Eddie Butler. He grew up in south Florida and later moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma. He worked in Human Resources at Thomas Concrete from 1977 to 1989 and also was an adjunct professor at OSU. He attended SNU and OSU and graduated with degrees in management and Computer Science. In 1989, he began his career as a database programmer at the Oklahoma Supreme Court and later retired in 2012.

He was one of a kind and could just as easily write a song as remodel a house. He loved to fish, play video games, watch the history channel and play the guitar. He loved telling jokes; he was charismatic, generous and loving. He was also stubborn, ornery and he always told it like he saw it.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Austin Counts, grandmother Mary Counts Blocker, his mother Mary Jo Counts Butler and his sister Janice Lynn Butler. He will be lovingly remembered by surviving family members, his father T. Eddie Butler, his wife Lona Burdett-Musick, his daughters Amy Kelly Musick and Sarah Elaine Musick, his grandson Alexander Austin Lucas, his stepsons Jack and Jon Barnard, his son in law Daniel Lucas, his siblings, Cathy Anne Gilbert-Gestes, Barbara Ann Butler, Patricia Mae O'Brien, Joel Musick and Connie Musick. A celebration of James life will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2 o'clock p.m.at the Bill Eisenhour funeral home, 5005 SE 29th St Del City.
