James Lawson Hall, 87, died May 22, 2013 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. James served in the U S Army, was a member of Union Baptist Church and retired in 1982 from the Ordnance Department Naval Weapon Station as a Supervisor. He was a lover of nature and enjoyed hunting, boating and being on the water. James was a master gardener planting a big garden with lots of vegetable to share with family and friends. He was wonderful to his family and enjoyed all his grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra F. Browning; parents, Hiram and Gertrude Hall; sister, Dorothy Walker and brother, Kenneth Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Edna F. Hall; daughter, Debra K. Tarran and husband John; sons, James L. Hall and wife LouAnne and Rickey Hall and wife Vickie; grandchildren, James L. Hall, Jr., Deserie Arangio, Stephanie Kiser, Jason Kiser, Rickey Hall, Jr. and Megan Hall; great grandchildren, Dustyn, Zachary, Madelynn, Arabella, Gabrielle and Kirk; and brother Thomas E. Hall.
Funeral service officiated by Reverend Thomas Bunting will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
