James M. Farrell, 85, of Whitesboro, passed away March 5, 2012, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Mr. Farrell was a US Navy veteran, having served during World War II. He was retired from General Electric Co. Following retirement, Jim realized a lifelong dream of becoming a licensed pilot. He was a member of the former St. Anne's Catholic Church in Whitesboro. He is survived by his wife Patricia; three children, Patricia Austin, Utica, Tom Farrell, Syracuse, and Ellen (Tom) Zdanowski, Syracuse; three grandsons, Bryan Austin, Dan Zdanowski, and Phil Zdanowski; a brother, Tom Farrell, two sisters, June Farrell, and Alice Costelloe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Robert and a sister Elizabeth. Memorial services will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at the Newman Center of Utica College, 1600 Burrstone Rd., Utica. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
