James Martin Wilson, 81, of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Hampton, VA, November 22, 1935 to James Edward Wilson and Josephine Ann Tumelavich Wilson.

Jim was a 1954 graduate of Hampton High School and later graduated from National Business College in Roanoke. He served in the United States Navy. He was an accountant in Roanoke before moving to Martinsville where he worked at Rives S. Brown as a comptroller and then a realtor before starting his own business, Jim Wilson Real Estate, where he worked many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Martinsville, the Kiwanis club, Masonic Lodge, the American Chestnut Foundation, Ruffed Grouse Society, Virginia Outdoors Foundation and Western Virginia Land Trust Society to which he donated several parcels of land into conservation easements.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Wilson.

Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Esta Kirk Wilson; two daughters, Valerie Wilson and Kathy W. Rowe (Jason); two sons, Mark Wilson (Barbara) and Brian Campbell (Jeananne); 7 grandchildren, Jason Campbell, Ethan Campbell, Kathryn Campbell, Andrew Rowe, Garrett Wilson, Hailey Rowe and Hudson Rowe; 2 sisters, Joanne Holley and Christina Wilson; 2 brothers, Bill Wilson (Donna) and Randy Wilson (Myrtle).

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to his caregivers who were his seven angels; Trista Feggans, Stephanie Wade, Gwendolyn Jamison, Tonya Burgess, Shirley Everette, Tammy King and Dorothy Glenn.
The family also greatly appreciates the immeasurable amount of help, comfort and support provided by two extremely dear friends, Phil Gardner and Patsy Hobson, especially during the last few months.
