James Robert "Bob" Beach, 87

James Robert "Bob" Beach, 87, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2018 in Cary, North Carolina.

Bob was born in Oradell, New Jersey on November 26, 1930 to Raymond and Olive Beach. The youngest of four children, Bob was an adventurous child that enjoyed the outdoors and sports. He graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, New Jersey and continued his education at Pennsylvania Military College, earning his degree in 1953.

Bob married Pat Seibert on June 20, 1953. He joined the United States Army, where he trained and became a pilot, earning the rank of Captain. He discovered his passion for flying and his love of planes, which continued throughout his life. Following his time in the Army, Bob's career took his family all over the country prior to becoming the Vice President at the United Jersey Bank in Paramus, New Jersey, where he oversaw their Aircraft Department.

Described as a very loving and altruistic person, Bob enjoyed volunteering in his community and was a member of Rotary International. Bob and Pat retired to the beach community of Quonochontaug, Rhode Island. He enjoyed outdoor activities including sailing, kayaking, clamming, and swimming. He loved spending time with friends and his family. He cherished visits with his children and grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Pat; two children, Becky Enterline and her husband Dave of Raleigh, NC, and Jim Beach and his wife Melinda of Anderson, SC; and four grandchildren, Katherine Wood and her husband Ryan of Houston, TX, Robert Enterline and his wife Olivia of Raleigh, NC, Tripp and Alec Beach of Anderson, SC. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Olive; three siblings: Bill, Ann, and Pat; and his precious dog, Chloe.

Bob will truly be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown -Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Rotary Foundation.
