Obituary

Jane Elizabeth Joyce (nee Powers) of Horsham, formerly of Northeast Philadelphia and Baltimore, passed away with Covid-19 complications on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Abington Jefferson Hospital. She was 86 years old.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Catherine M. (nee Doyle), her Father Joseph J. Powers, her brother Patrick E. Powers Sr., her half-brother Royce D. Wagner, her brothers-in law Joseph P. Joyce, Gerald P. Joyce and her husband, Thomas Gerald Joyce.
She was the devoted Mother to Catherine M. Joyce of Hatboro and Maurya Joyce-Kershner (William F.) of Doylestown. She is also survived by her cousins James W. Powers (Joanmarie), Mary Smith (Joseph), Dorothy Marquart and her sisters-in-law Joan Marie Wagner, Dorothy Joyce, Maryann Joyce, Mary C. Miller as well as three step grandsons, Ethan, Alexander and Matthew Kershner. Her nieces and nephews; Patrick E. Powers Jr. (Marsha), L. Susan Ekstrom, Brenda Boone (Rudy), Joann Schoppert, Tina Shultz, Joseph Joyce (Elise), Patricia McGrath (Sean), Timothy Joyce (Christina), Annette Joyce, Lee Ann Kampf (Mark), James Joyce (Pam), Harry Miller (Rachel), Michael Miller and Nicole Miller-DeSantis (Joseph). She is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews as well as great grand nieces and nephews.
Jane was a Graduate of Lincoln High School and she attended Temple University. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. As a child, she was a product of the Lost Generation that survived the Great Depression and WWII.
She was a fashionista that loved to sew. She also loved gardening and had flower beds and vegetable gardens surrounding her home. She and her husband Thomas had a Fire Protection Automatic Sprinkler Company. Jane was the CEO that handled Accounting, Risk Management, Benefits, Human Resources including the Merit Shop Apprenticeship Program which she had approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Federal Government. She was a "Woman in Construction" before they were recognized as such. She belonged to the American Fire Sprinkler Association, Sub-Contractors Association of Delaware Valley and volunteered in many community organizations. She and her husband worked together to have a business they were proud of and provided for their family.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Saint Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and Mass will begin at 11:00am. Services will be livestreamed on the Decker Givnish Life Celebration Home Facebook page. Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne and a luncheon to follow.
