Jane M. Hanna, 84, of East Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24th 2017 at the VNA Hospice House. She died surrounded by her loving son and daughter.

Born in Stroudsburg, PA on April 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John B. Miller of Stroudsburg and Elsie Weisman Miller of Perth Amboy, NJ.

Jane was an avid reader and crossword puzzle extraordinaire; she never met a book that she didn't like. Jane graduated from Stroudsburg High School class of 1951 then graduated from East Stroudsburg Teachers College in 1955. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. One Friday a month, she would share luncheons with her 1951 classmates.
She enjoyed going to all Pocono diners with her daughter and grocery shopping with her son. She retired from the Monroe County Courthouse in 2004 from the personnel department. Jane was a student teacher in Roseto, PA and later taught first and second grade for one year in Reeders, PA. She left teaching to raise her two children.

Jane had been predeceased by her parents: John and Elsie; her brother: Michael W. Miller and her former husband Vernon A. Hanna.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son: Vernon J. Hanna and his wife Tammy, of Bluffton,SC; her daughter: Katherine Hanna, of Lopez Island,WA; her grandchildren: Casey A. Hanna and his wife Lauren, of Clark, NJ; Samantha E. Hanna, of Bluffton,SC; a niece and three nephews.
The services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
