On Friday, December 15, 2017 Janelle H. Long was called home to be with the Lord.

Janelle was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 19, 1947. She grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Academy High School. Janelle studied education at Navarro College and Stephen F. Austin State University before she married and moved to Japan, where she served as a U.S. Army wife. In recent years, Janelle served her community as Mayor of Cottonwood Shores, and Quarter Master for the Cottonwood Shores Volunteer Fire Department.

Janelle was an outgoing, energetic personality who was ?ercely devoted to her family. She lived the traits of kindness, generosity and integrity. She was fun-loving, sassy and stubborn as hell. She worked tirelessly, whether at her job, for her community, and especially for her friends and family; caring for her parents to the very last. When she found the time, she loved building things in her woodworking shop. She was a rare gem whose happiness, wit and laughter will be desperately missed.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law Ricky and Rhea Ann, Bryan and Kim, and Derek and Lois; grandchildren Preston, Haydyn, Henry, Corbyn, Jazmyn, Caden, James, Tyler, and Caitlyn; parents Richard and Dorothy Hockensmith; brother Richard D. Hockensmith and wife Jill, nephew Travis Hockensmith, niece Meara Hockensmith and ?anc Bryan Smith; and best friend Jo Ann Spillman.

A celebration of Janelle's life will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 10:30 am at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2702 Mormon Mills Road, Marble Falls, Texas 78654.

The family requests that in lieu of ?owers, donations be made to Kendall Respite Memory Care, PO Box 749, Marble Falls, Texas 78654.
