STEVENS, Janice B. – 78

Janice B. Wickwire Stevens, age 78 of Lafayette, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away at 2:35 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. Born June 30, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Leland and Sara Fowler Wickwire.
Janice married Earl Stevens on January 28, 1961 in Omaha, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1996. She worked at the Target Distribution Center in Indianapolis for 20 years, retiring in 1999. Janice was a member of the Northview Christian Church of Lafayette. She enjoyed flower gardening and interior design.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie J. Lee (husband, Robert E.) of Coral Springs, FL and Cheryl D. Hurd (husband, David) of West Lafayette; and two brothers, Bud Wickwire (wife, Connie) and Richard Wickwire (wife, Marlene) both of Omaha, Nebraska. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Stephen, Michelle, and Taylor Small and Kyle, Zachary, and Connor Hurd; and two great grandchildren: Jaden and Megan Small. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Scotty Wall officiating. Burial to follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care.
