She married Robert "Rob" Harter on March 29, 2007 at the Clay City Church of God in Clay City, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Bryon Kraning, one brother, Stephen Bechtel and one great granddaughter, Alana Thomas.

Jan absolutely loved her family, her friends and her church family at the Transformation Church of God of Clay City; of which she was a member. She also loved her "lap companions"; which consisted of many pet puppies over the years.
In keeping with Jan's wishes, her earthly body has been cremated and a memorial service to celebrate her life and her belief in Jesus Christ will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2PM in the afternoon at the Transformation Church of God, Highway 50, Clay City, IL.
