Jason Douglas Muir died peacefully in his sleep on September 30 at his home in Annapolis, MD at the age of 43. Jason is survived by his loving wife Kim; mother Deborah Haynes (Robert) of Plainsboro, NJ; brother Justin (Aura) of Robbinsville, NJ; sister Cecile (Austin) of Olive Branch, MS and many nieces and nephews whom he adored (Danna, Caitlyn, Colin, David, Noah, Skyler, Logan, Dominic, and Athena) He is preceded in death by his father Douglas Muir.



Jason received a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University and his Master’s Degree from Towson University. He was a devoted pre-kindergarten teacher. Jason taught in San Diego, CA, Philadelphia, PA, and Trenton, NJ. Jason moved to Annapolis, MD in 2004 and taught pre-kindergarten and kindergarten at Quarterfield Elementary in AACPS for the past 13 years where he met his wife Kim. In 2007 he was nominated for the excellence in education teacher of the year. The community loved and cherished Jason. In 2012 he married his wife Kim in Sint Maarten. In his free time he loved fishing, playing basketball, and swimming. Jason was a record collector and enjoyed all genres of music. An avid sports fan, the Redskins were always his favorite team.



The family will receive friends at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD 21401 on Thursday from 12 noon to 1 pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 1 pm. A reception will follow in the Funeral Homes catering room from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
