Jean Spencer Hudspeth, 88, of Clover, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Gastonia and was the daughter of the late Clarence Elmer and Eleanor Alexander Spencer.

Mrs. Hudspeth retired from Homelite, Corporation after 16 years' service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clover where she was a member of the Ester Circle, "Forever Young Club" and the Harmony Bible Class. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and she loved to bake for her children, grandchildren and friends.

Mrs. Hudspeth is survived by her daughter, Myra Brooks of Clover; her son, Keith Jamison of Kings Mountain; four grandchildren, Robert Cooper, Jerrod Cooper, Rebecca Deets, Steven Jamison ; five great grandchildren, Josiah Cooper, Zoey Cooper, Jonah Cooper, Brice Deets, Brandon Deets.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Wilkes and Rev. Brandon Lazarus officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hudspeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Winfred Hudspeth; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Spencer, Lewis Spencer; three sisters, Iris Willcox, Margaret Dutton, Thelma Hoffman.
