Jean C. (Smith) DiZenzo, age 82, of Southport, beloved wife of the late William DiZenzo, Sr., passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Carolton Chronic Care Hospital. Born in Derby, CT the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Jean Smith, she had been a Southport resident for the last 50 years. Jean was a longtime member of the Southport Women's Club. She was a jazz enthusiast and often went to listen to live jazz with her husband Bill. Survivors include her four children, William F. DiZenzo, Jr. of Southport, Daryl DiZenzo of Weston, Brian DiZenzo and his wife Elvira of Huntington and Marcia DiZenzo of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Ellsworth Smith of Georgia, Arthur Smith of Huntington, CT and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 12:00 PM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S Benson Rd., Fairfield with interment to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family Wednesday from 10:00 AM to the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. DiZenzo's memory to the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Rd., Fairfield, CT 06824.
