Jean F. Huber 81, formally of Argusville ND died peacefully Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the Arthur Good Samaritan Home.

Jean Farol Prather, the oldest of 3 children, was born to Charles Curtis Prather and Helen Loretta (Troy) in Momence Ill on May 17, 1935 in her grandma Troy's house. Her first years of school were in a country school in Monee, Illinois. Jean moved to Minnesota at a young age with her father and stepmother Henrietta Vogel Prather. Jean graduated from Browerville High school in 1953. She attended Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND for part of a year. Jean was previously married and divorced. She worked at various places in her early 20's and 30's. In 1968 while working in Idaho she met and married Floyd Huber. Two daughters were born to them, Joy Ellen (David) Nogowski and Jana Kay Huber who died in infancy. They lived for 30 years in Argusville, ND while their daughter Joy grew up.

Jean was active in the UCC Church, Argusville participating in Mission Circles, Ladies Aide and taught Sunday School. Jean loved God and went to church faithfully. Jean's spirit and love for others was extraordinary. She could hold you in a conversation for hours talking about anything. She loved life and people which was seen in her beautiful smile. She had a great love for animals especially cats. She loved anything with a cat on it. The neighborhood birds (and squirrels) were also fed. She enjoyed reading, writing, gardening, traveling and cooking. But, mostly spending time with her precious daughter Joy.

Jean is survived by her daughter Joy and husband David Nogowski, Hunter ND, half-brothers: Wayne (Belinda) Prather, Dean (Kay) Prather, Clarissa, MN, half-sister: Loretta Polick, Fontanet IN, sisters-in-laws: Lyla Prather, St. Anthony ID,
Mary Prather Rock Springs, WY, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, one daughter and two brothers

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5 until 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 1 PM at St. John Lutheran Church, Arthur, ND, reception following, with burial being held at the Argusville Cemetery.
