Jeanne Lee (Schneider) Burns was born on October 8, 1943 in Oakland, CA to William Schneider and Genevieve (Hudson) Schneider. Jeanne’s parents returned to Reedsport, Oregon upon the end of WWII. She attended Reedsport Grade and High School, where she was active in student government, cheerleading, and National Honor Society. She graduated from Reedsport High School in 1961 and quickly enrolled in her beloved college, Oregon State University. Jeanne married Roy Burns on December 27, 1963. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1965 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics Education. She was hired by Pleasant Hill High School where she taught for 5 years. She “retired” to raise her 2 daughters and apply her home making skills to the family farm in Pleasant Hill. Jeanne loved to sew, scrapbook, travel, cook, and garden. She enjoyed attending athletic events, whether it was for her grandchildren or her alma mates Oregon State, but most of all, she loved being with family and her 4 grandchildren. She passed on July 12, 2017 at the age of 73 due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Roy; her daughters Denise Pallin of Pleasant Hill and Delynn Scharpen of Grants Pass; her brother Bill Schneider of Lowell, and her 4 grandchildren Chase, Cameron, Matthew, and Madison.
