Jeannette B. Lescarbeau, 97, of Granby, beloved wife of the late Roland Lescarbeau, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Born in Lawrence, MA to the late Josephat and Eugenie Lebel LaPlume, she has been a Granby resident for over 57 years and was a member of St. Therese Church in Granby. Jeannette was a member of the St. Therese Women's Guild and the Third Order at St. Joseph Church in Winsted; she worked the polling booths in Granby for many years. She enjoyed playing BINGO and going to the casino, gardening, opera and playing her piano. A woman of strong faith, she enjoyed many hours watching EWTN, enjoying the music and masses. Her true passion, however, was her family who will miss her dearly. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and sharp wit. She is survived by her son Doug Lescarbeau and his wife Lorrie of Simsbury; her daughters, Elaine Girard and her husband Daniel of West Granby, Jeanine Girard and her husband Roch of Fort Mill, SC, Linda McDonald and her husband Daniel of Manning, SC, Carol Lindberg and her husband Robert of East Granby and Beverly Bruhns and her husband Barry of Monroe, NC; her daughter-in-law Elaine Milligan of East Windsor; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Paul Lescarbeau and eleven brothers and sisters. Her family will receive friends on Monday, February 13 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Hayes Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St, Granby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, February 14 at St. Therese Church, 120 West Granby Rd Granby. Burial in St. Bernard Cemetery will be private.
