Rupert, VT-Jennie Elizabeth Farrar Carver, 104, of Rupert, VT, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, October 17, 2010 at her residence with her family by her side. Born July 5, 1906 in Rupert, she was the daughter of the late Barney and Anna (McKeighan) Mullen. Jennie was educated in Rupert and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rupert Congregational Church. Jennie was very talented in braiding rugs, making quilts, aprons, pot holders. She loved picking blueberries and tending to her flower garden. Jennie loved to watch the deer outside her home.




Jennie was also predeceased by her first husband, Charles M. Farrar who passed away April 14, 1960; her second husband, Hascall C. Carver who passed away November 14, 1979; a daughter-in-law, Ellen Esther Farrar who passed away November 3, 2003; her siblings, Anna "Carrie" Christensen, Thomas Mullen, Gladys Mullen, Otis Mullen and Anna Roberts.




Jennie is survived by her two sons, Roland C. Farrar and his wife Emma of Rupert, VT and Stanley J. Farrar of Middle Granville, NY. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.




Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem with Rev. Paul Mychack officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Rupert Cemetery.


Family and friends are invited to attend and may call on Wednesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.




Those who wish to remember Jennie in a special way may make memorial contributions to the Haynes House of Hope, P.O. Box 235, Granville, NY 12832 of the Salem Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 360, Salem, NY 12865.


Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Dale Farrar, Angela McGinnis, Martin Farrar, Steven Farrar, David Farrar & Aric Farrar.




Jennie lived a good, long life and will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
