GRAHN. Jennie (Delton) Grahn, 86, of East Hartland, known to family and friends as “Gram”, passed away peacefully Friday, (May 19, 2006) at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family. Jennie was born June 15, 1919 in East Hartland, daughter of the late John and Anna (Zeland) Delton. She was the widow of Woodrow C. Fields and Arne Y. Grahn and had lived in Granby prior to moving back to East Hartland 33 years ago. She retired from the Poly Choke Co. in East Hartford after 35 years in 1984. Jennie enjoyed a simple life centered on her family. She enjoyed bingo and traveling with her best friend and sister-in-law, Jean Ann Delton. She was a communicant of St. Therese Church in Granby. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Wainman and her husband, Harry of East Hartland; a son Woodrow Fields of Austin, TX, six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Anna LaBier of New Britain; a sister-in-law, Jean Ann Delton of East Hartland and many nieces and nephews. Jennie was predeceased by a granddaughter, Laura Wainman Delaney; a great granddaughter, Wendy Jean Wainman; two sisters; and two brothers. The family wishes to thank the Farmington Valley VNA for their compassionate care and support during a difficult time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 23, 10 a.m., at St. Therese Church, 120 West Granby Rd. (Rt. 20), Granby. Interment will be private in St. Bernard Cemetery, Tariffville.
