Jerry Schultze, formerly of Boulder and Longmont, passed away on November 10th in North Richland Hills, a suburb of Dallas Texas at age 82. Jerry, Joe to family and friends, was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, one of 17 children and stepchildren of his parents, Max Henry Schultze and Mildred Baumgartener.

Jerry married Joyce Jones Williams in Mobile, Alabama in 1957, divorcing in 1976. Jerry traveled extensively throughout the United States, driving his recreational vehicle as well as living in Wisconsin, Alabama, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas. Jerry loved elk hunting, baseball, country dancing, camping, and spending time with the many friends he made wherever he lived. Jerry was always quick to volunteer his time and talents to help others in Colorado and especially at the 55+ community where he lived in Tucson. Jerry served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1960 and moved to Mobile in 1969 when he started his lifetime career with IBM as a skilled and talented technician.

Jerry moved to Colorado in 1977 where he started his lifetime love of the mountains and the West. Jerry met Louetta Olson in Colorado and they enjoyed 10 wonderful years together before her death in 1988. Jerry was a devoted father and grandfather to Lisa (Mike) Morris and their three children, and a caring stepfather to Lou’s children; Connie (Gary) Bardsley, Rick (Glenda) Olson, and Debbie. Jerry married his current wife, Mary Kay Aiden in 1990 and expanded his role as stepfather to include her children; Dave (Dana) Eurich, Michael (Melissa) Eurich, and Lisa (Paul) Klemmme. Jerry and Kay later moved to Tucson, AZ followed most recently by a move to the Dallas area in 2016

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Kay, his first wife, Joyce Jones Williams of Mobile, Alabama, a daughter Lisa (Mike) Morris of Plano, Texas and his grandchildren Katherine/Katie (Dee) Higginbotham and their son Charlie, Joseph and Jessica Morris. Jerry was survived by 6 of his 12 siblings; 4 brothers (and their spouses); Max (Nancy), John (Burlene), Harold (Sheila), and Calvin (Jean) Schultze, 2 sisters (and their spouses); Pat (Herman) Mason and Penny (Mike) Gillette. He is survived by stepdaughters Connie (Gary) Bardsley, Debbie Larson, and Lisa (Paul) Klemme, and stepson Dave (Dana) Eurich, 11 step grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren/step great grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife Louetta (Lou) Schultze, and his siblings/stepsiblings William (Shirley), James (Margaret), Hank (Eleanor), Howard (Ellen), Raymond (Mary), Ronald (Jeri), and Dale Jean) Schultze, Mae Franz, Vera (Sally) Lowe, Jean Gutowski, and stepsons Rick Olson and Michael Eurich.

At Jerry’s request, no funeral service will be held, instead the family wishes Jerry’s many friends and relatives to reflect and rejoice upon the time they shared in Wisconsin, Alabama, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas.
