Joshua 24:14-15... "But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" speaks volumes about the man who took his last breath here on earth with his loving family surrounding him Tuesday morning, September 8, 2015 and then took his next breath in Heaven with Jesus surrounding him. The man being spoken about is Jerry Eugene Lingerfelt. "His wings were ready but our hearts were not"... A man who was dedicated to the Liberian Orphanage Fund, which he founded. He left behind a legacy that includes his active involvement in Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 25 years where he was a Sunday School teacher among many other church activities.

Jerry also served as a counselor for the Billy Graham crusade in 1996. He regards the Bible as his favorite book. He believed strongly in the Golden Rule; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Jerry was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers. Jerry was 75 years old and was the son of the late John Dewey Lingerfelt and Mildred Bright Lingerfelt.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his faithful, loving wife of 38 years Vicki Lingerfelt; two daughters: Jennifer White and husband Ernie of Charlotte and Tiffany Campbell and husband Terry of Stanley; two sons: Jeffrey Van Lingerfelt of Charlotte along with Norwood Lee Lingerfelt of Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren: Eric Sneed, Corin Allsup, Hunter Campbell, Bailey Campbell, Colin Lingerfelt and Donovan Lingerfelt; one sister: Carolyn Helms; two brothers: Mack Lingerfelt and wife Norma and Barry Lingerfelt; two brothers in law: Phil Holcomb and wife Judy of Belmont and Lynn Holcomb and wife Ann of Gastonia.
