Jesse was born to Antonio and Mercedes Nicasio in Modesto, CA. He attended Tuolumne Elementary and Mark Twain Jr. high School and graduated from Modesto High School. He was a skilled cabinet maker, working for Alberts Cabinets and Nevitts Cabinets. He also worked for the Gallo Winery in Modesto. He started as a volunteer with Industrial Fire Protection District in South Modesto in 1972 and worked his way through the volunteer ranks until he became a Fire Captain. He was then hired on as the paid Assistant Chief. In 1984 Jesse was promoted to Fire Chief and served in that capacity until 1993, when services provided by the Industrial Fire Dept. were contracted out to the City of Ceres Fire Dept and The Modesto Fire Department. Under that contract for service Jesse moved on to become a Fire Captain with Modesto Fire Dept. He medically retired from the Modesto Fire Department in 2003. After his Retirement he needed something to occupy his time so he started working for Home Depot, after working there for a short time he went to work at Lowes where he made several new friends and really enjoyed his job working in the paint department as the paint manager. After one of his knee surgeries, his Doctor diagnosed him with End stage Multiple Myeloma Cancer and he was unable to continue working, he was then given a time frame of 3 weeks to 3 months to live. He was a fighter however and we were able to enjoy his company for many more years until his recent passing. Jesse is survived by his 3 children, Lori Spani(Paul), Darek Nicasio(Terryl), and Jesse Nicasio Jr.(Christine). Jesse is also survived by 6 Grandchildren, Braden Spani, Haley Spani, Emily Nicasio, Sierra Nicasio, Joseph Spani(Sabrina) and Kyle Spani. He is also survived by 2 Great Grandchildren, Olivia Spani and Claire Spani. He was a past member of the Stanislaus County Fire Chiefs Association, a member of the Stanislaus County Firemens Association and a member of Covenant Grove Church in Modesto.
