Jessie Mae Newsom, 103, of Paris, went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2012.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17th, at Highland Cemetery in Deport with Lloyd Williams and Rev. Mike Redus officiating and singing by the Bolton's. The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.

She was born Oct. 5, 1908, to the parentage of the late Crowel Cleveland Newsome and Letha Irene Curtis Newsome. To this union nine children were born, eight of the nine preceded her in death: sisters, Willie Lou Sparkman, Minnie Lee Landers, Lennie Bailey, Alice Bumgardner; brothers: Clyde Newsome and J. B. Newsome.

On July 20, 1946, she married W. C. "Buster" Newsom. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2000.

Loved ones who remain are a sister, Ruby Blevins, a daughter, Inez Weaver, son, Melvin Pate all of Paris, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

A son, Clarence Pate, Jr. preceded her in death.

She was a loving, caring, God fearing woman that loved her family and loved to sew and embroidery.
