Jewel McCreery, 97, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 606 Ridgeway Ave, Columbia, MO from 1:00 - 2:00 pm with funeral services to follow from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Foley. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jewel was born on July 14, 1920 in Boone County, MO the daughter of John Henry and Addie Lee (Nichols) Dothage who preceded her in death. She was married on January 20, 1940 in Columbia, MO to JC McCreery who preceded her in death on August 4, 1991. She was then married on October 23, 2009 in Columbia, MO to Kenneth Madlin of Columbia, MO wo survives her. She was a bookkeeper and manager for Schaperkotter Hardware Store, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed volunteering for over 20 years at Boone Hospital in the gift shop and worked at Regis Hair Salon in the Columbia Mall. Jewel was an avid Bridge player and loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include: one son, Michael McCreery (Kathleen) of San Dimas, CA; three grandchildren, Maureen Binger, Donald Thrash, and Randy Thrash; four great-grandchildren, Amy Thrash, Jake Binger, Hannah Thrash and Garret Thrash and step-daughter, Virginia Crosby of Kansas City, MO. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Smith and Lucille Crane and one brother, Turner Dothage.
