Jo Annette Conaway died peacefully December 27 in Covenant Hospice, Lubbock, Texas. Her funeral will be held at the Westbrook Baptist Church on Saturday, December 30th at 10 am with pastor Paul Smith of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burail will follow in the Westbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 29th from 6-8 pm at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City
Jo, born August 2, 1949 in Hot Springs, South Dakota, moved to Big Spring, Texas with her family when she was three years old. She was a graduate of Big Spring High School and attended Howard College. She worked for various companies and recently retired from Mitchell County Hospital after working 20 years in medical records in the Ware Unit in Colorado City.
Survivors include her husband of forty-seven years, Travis Neil Conaway; daughter Laura Elizabeth Conaway, her grandsons Dakota Dwayne Bradbury and Dalton Ray Bradbury and great-granddaughter LillieAnn Marie Bradbury as well as her Grandsons Step Father Scott David Wathen ; brother Paul Eugene Sturdevant and wife Jeanne; cousins Virginia and Bill Sturdevant; sister-in-law Margaret Ann Conaway, nephews and nieces.
Jo will also be fondly remembered by her family of coworkers at the Ware Unit.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents Chester Eugene Sturdevant and Mary Pauline Pitzer Sturdevant.
Jo and her husband were members of Westbrook Baptist Church.
